About Briter
Briter is a business intelligence and research company mapping business, innovation, investment, and entrepreneurship in emerging markets. We release dozens of publications every year and develop proprietary datasets and interactive platforms, including Briter Intelligence, that are used by investors, funds, development finance institutions, corporates, and policy-makers. To expand our coverage in India and Latin America, we are seeking a Data Analyst to strengthen our data and research capabilities.
Role Overview
The Data Analyst will focus on collecting, structuring, and maintaining high-quality data for Briter Intelligence. The role will also involve producing analyses and visuals that support client projects, flagship publications, and internal research.
Responsibilities
- Identify and collect company data, investment records, and ecosystem information across Asia and Latin America.
- Clean, validate, and standardise raw data to maintain consistency and accuracy.
- Update and maintain Briter’s proprietary datasets, including companies, investors, deals, and other types of actors.
- Keep detailed records of data sources and methodologies.
- Work with the product and technology teams to ensure that new data is properly integrated into Briter Intelligence.
- Prepare descriptive analyses and comparative overviews for client deliverables and reports.
- Produce charts, tables, and other visuals that explain data clearly.
- Contribute data-driven content for sector studies, country profiles, and ecosystem mappings.
- Respond to team requests for specific data outputs in a timely and accurate way.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in data research or business intelligence.
- Strong skills in Excel or Google Sheets for cleaning and structuring data.
- Being passionate about and understanding the entrepreneurial and investment landscape in Asia or Latin America.
- Ability to identify and use local data sources. Spanish or Portuguese for Latin America, and Hindi or other Asian languages, are a must.
- High attention to detail and a structured approach to managing information.
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in a distributed team.
- Knowledge of SQL or Python for data manipulation is an advantage.
- Experience using visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio is an advantage.
