This expansion reflects growing demand from clients and partners for deeper, more consistent, and locally grounded data. These roles are part of a broader effort to reinforce our core datasets, close existing geographic and sectoral gaps, and improve the quality, comparability, and timeliness of insights across emerging markets.
Our work combines structured datasets, original research, and analytical outputs used directly in investment decisions, policy design, and market strategy.
The Role
We are hiring Emerging Markets Data Analysts to support the expansion and consolidation of Briter’s data coverage in priority regions. This role sits at the core of Briter’s operations, focusing on building, validating, and analysing structured data on companies, investors, funds, deals, and ecosystems. You will work closely with senior analysts, research leads, and product teams, contributing to proprietary databases, flagship reports, and client deliverables used by leading global institutions.
Key Responsibilities
Data collection and structuring
- Identify, collect, and validate data on startups, scaleups, investors, funds, and transactions across emerging markets
- Strengthen coverage in Latin America, Asia, and/or Francophone Africa by filling data gaps and improving local accuracy
- Maintain and update structured datasets using Briter’s internal taxonomies and quality standards
- Cross-check sources, resolve inconsistencies, and ensure data integrity across markets
Analysis and insight generation
- Analyse trends in investment flows, sector development, business models, and ecosystem dynamics
- Support the production of charts, tables, and analytical outputs for reports, platforms, and client projects
- Flag emerging patterns, anomalies, and errors in data
Research support
- Support country, sector, and thematic research led by team members in Research and Content departments
- Conduct desk research using local, regional, and international sources
- Support interview preparation, background research, and synthesis of qualitative inputs
Collaboration and delivery
- Work closely with colleagues across geographies and time zones
- Contribute to internal documentation and knowledge sharing
- Support timely delivery of data updates, research outputs, and client work
Required Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, data science, statistics, international development, business, public policy, or a related field
- Strong interest in emerging markets, entrepreneurship, investment, and economic development
- Demonstrated ability to work with structured data and datasets
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written English
- Additional language skills strongly preferred depending on location:
- Spanish for Mexico City
- French for Abidjan
- Portuguese, Mandarin, and Arabic are also highly appreciated.
- High attention to detail and comfort working with incomplete or fragmented data
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
- Experience with data cleaning, structuring, and validation
- Familiarity with basic analytical concepts and data interpretation
- Experience with SQL, Python, R, or data visualisation tools is a plus, not a requirement
