African Risk Capacity (ARC) Group

The African Risk Capacity (ARC) Group is a Specialized Agency of the African Union established to help African governments plan, prepare, and respond to extreme weather events, natural disasters, and disease outbreaks. The Group consists of two entities: the ARC Agency, which provides capacity building and technical support, and ARC Limited (ARC Ltd), a hybrid mutual insurer. Utilizing its proprietary early-warning software, Africa RiskView, ARC provides sovereign parametric insurance, enabling rapid, predictable financing to protect vulnerable populations and safeguard food security when disasters strike.
