Department of Science & Technology (DST)

Indian government department within the Ministry of Science and Technology, established in May 1971 to promote, coordinate and advance science and technology nationwide. DST designs and implements national scientific programmes, supports research infrastructure and student engagement initiatives, manages autonomous S&T institutions, fosters international cooperation, and leads thematic missions in areas such as nanotechnology, quantum technologies, clean energy and climate science.
