Gender Rights in Tech (GRIT)

Gender Rights in Tech (GRIT), formerly Kwanele - Bringing Women Justice, is a South African feminist non-profit that develops technology and advocacy services to support survivors of gender-based violence. GRIT operates a mobile application (Kwanele App) and an AI chatbot to enable confidential reporting, provide guidance, connect survivors to legal professionals, offer in-person court support, maintain an evidence vault, provide a panic-button feature, and deliver trauma-informed post-violence care. The organisation focuses on improving access to justice through data-informed reporting, capacity-building, and community co-creation.
