African Venture Studio Summit Directory 2026

African Venture Studio Directory from the 2026 Venture Studio Summit in Nairobi.

Eighteen venture studios from across the continent came together for a day of open exchange at the Second African Venture Studio Summit in Nairobi in September 2026. It was exciting to see so many teams travel to meet their peers, engage thoughtfully, and share their insights. As part of the summit, we are releasing an African Venture Studio Directory showcasing a sample of venture studios operating in Africa that attended the summit.

This second African Venture Studio Summit builds on our White Paper on African Venture Studios with FMO and GIZ SAIS, which identified over forty venture studios operating across Africa. The first summit helped define venture studios as institutional co-founders that build and operationalise ventures in unique funding environments. This edition went a step further, with additional venture studios attending the summit, driving the conversation that frames venture studios as an asset class driven by both value creation and financial returns.

Each venture studio is unique in design, but their shared value proposition lies in their ability to iterate and build resilient ventures deeply embedded in the ecosystem and ready for follow-on funders. This also means funding and building sustainability for venture studios go beyond VC funds and are tailored to the studios’ functions, maturity, the types of ventures they build, and their growth expectations. The African Venture Studio Directory is a working directory highlighting and clarifying a sample of these venture studios. We welcome many other venture studios, funders, and other early-stage ecosystem builders to engage with us to update this directory by reaching out to Hangyul at shangyul@briterbridges.com .
