A Framework for Climate Tech Innovation Hubs in Latin America and the Caribbean
This report introduces a framework for developing climate tech innovation hubs (CTIH) in the context of Latin America and the Caribbean. CTIHs are private and public partnership hubs that boost climate tech innovations by providing a coordinated vision and centralising data and resources. This report calls to action for governments, corporates, universities, ESOs, and climate tech entrepreneurs to work together in making the climate innovation industry more coordinated and connected, and ultimately develop more effective solutions to pressing climate challenges. This report is part of the CATAL1.5°T Initiative, a global effort to promote local climate tech innovation in emerging markets. The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the initiative is implemented by GIZ together with EIT Climate-KIC and regional partners. It supports early-stage entrepreneurs and ventures working on climate solutions in West Africa and Latin America.
