About the Event

Why we built #LoLa2026

Over the past decade, Briter has worked to make emerging markets easier to understand through research, data and analysis. We began with Africa, expanded our work across Asia, and over the last few years have invested significantly in Latin America. The more time we spent working with founders, investors, development finance institutions, corporations and governments across the region, the clearer it became that there was still a gap between the quality of the ecosystem itself and the way it is often understood internationally.

Our work at Briter has always been based on the idea that better information leads to better decisions. That means collecting data, producing independent research and building tools that reduce information asymmetries, but it also means creating opportunities for people working across these ecosystems to meet, exchange perspectives and build relationships. LoLa was created with that objective in mind.

The first edition of LoLa was held in London on 11 June and brought together leading voices across key themes shaping the region: the Latin America investment landscape, agrifood, climate, fintech, Brazil, scaling in Latin America, and gender and inclusion.

We deliberately chose to host the summit in London during London Tech Week. London continues to be one of the few places where global venture capital, institutional investors, development finance institutions, multinational companies, policymakers and entrepreneurs regularly come together.

During the event, we also launched the first edition of the Latin America Investment Report. The report is one of several research initiatives through which Briter aims to provide independent, data-driven analysis of emerging markets. By tracking companies, investors and capital flows across the region, it seeks to provide a clearer understanding of how ecosystems are developing and where new opportunities are emerging. Alongside our broader research programme and the Briter Intelligence platform, it forms part of our long-term commitment to improving the availability and quality of information on Latin America’s innovation economy.

If you’d like to learn more about the event or our work in Latin America, we’d love to hear from you.
